About

I am a freelance illustrator based in Manchester specialising in pencil illustration. The majority of my inspiration comes from animals and the natural world.

During my final year of studying towards a BA in illustration at the university of Central Lancashire I wrote and illustrated my first children’s picture book called ‘Going Home’ which went on to be highly commended for the Pan Macmillan children’s book prize in 2017. Since then, I went on to study towards a master’s degree in children’s book illustration when I wrote and illustrated a further two picture books while starting to work as a freelance illustrator. In 2018, these two children’s picture books (‘A Natural Order’ and ‘Every Whale’) were also awarded highly commended in the Pan Macmillan competition.

As well as illustrating for picture books, I love to design prints for my shop and work on a range of freelance projects which is something which I hope to pursue a lot more in the future.
